Several years ago my family went canoe camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota aka BWCA. It became a family favorite trip, complete with fishing and the sound of the loons in the evening.
A few months ago, I was having a conversation with a seminary friend about prayer time and learning from the Jesuits on personal prayer life. He mentioned that when he prays, he pictures meeting Jesus in prayer time at a small cabin in the BWCA.
I’ve met Jesus there too with my family and knew I had to paint the image in my head. I’ve always felt closest to Jesus in nature. I hope you see him in this piece too.
